Comparing inbound numbers.

How do 1300 numbers and 1800 numbers and 13 numbers differ?

The three most common types of inbound numbers in Australia are 1300 numbers, 1800 numbers and 13 numbers. They are virtual numbers used exclusively for managing incoming calls. Aside from the prefix (1300 xxx xxx, 1800 xxx xxx,13 xx xx) inbound numbers also differ in digits and call charges.

The main difference between 1800 and 1300 numbers would be the way the calls are charged. Calls made to 1300 numbers are charged to both the caller and the business. 1800 numbers on the other hand, are toll-free numbers or free-call numbers because there is no charge to the caller when dialing local fixed line. The business shoulders the call cost for the full duration of the 1800 number call.

More often than not, an 1800 number or a 13 number offers a great alternative to a 1300 number, especially if the desired Smartnumber or phoneword is not available with the 1300 prefix.
